How to Delete Facebook Account Permanently
**Step 1: Consider Downloading Your Data (Optional)**
Before you delete your account, you might want to download a
copy of your Facebook data. This includes your photos, posts, messages, and
more. To do this, go to Settings > Your Facebook Information > Download
Your Information. Facebook will then prepare a copy of your data and notify you
when it's ready for download.
**Step 2: Initiate the Deletion Process**
Once you're ready to delete your account, log in to Facebook
and navigate to the Settings page. You can find this by clicking on the
downward arrow in the top-right corner of the Facebook homepage.
**Step 3: Access Your Account Settings**
In the Settings menu, look for the "Your Facebook
Information" section. Here, you'll find an option to "Deactivate and
Delete Account." Click on this option.
**Step 4: Choose to Permanently Delete Your Account**
Facebook will present you with two options: deactivating
your account or permanently deleting it. Select "Permanently Delete
Account" to proceed.
**Step 5: Confirm Your Decision**
Facebook will ask you to confirm your decision to delete
your account. You may also be prompted to enter your password for security
purposes. Once you've confirmed, click on "Continue to Account
Deletion."
**Step 6: Complete the Deletion Process**
Facebook will then begin the process of permanently deleting
your account. This may take some time, and during this period, you won't be
able to access your account. Additionally, some information, such as messages
you've sent to friends, may still be visible even after deletion. However,
these will be dissociated from your account.
**Step 7: Stay Off Facebook for 30 Days**
After you've initiated the deletion process, avoid logging
in to Facebook for at least 30 days. If you log in during this period, the
deletion process may be canceled, and your account won't be deleted.
